Zondervan TNIV Campaign Gains National Recognition for Creativity, Strategic Business Impact
GRAND RAPIDS, Mich., June 13, 2006 – Lambert, Edwards & Associates is the recipient of this year’s prestigious Silver Anvil Award, sponsored by the Public Relations Society of America (PRSA). The Silver Anvil, which recognizes outstanding achievement in strategic public relations planning and implementation, was presented during the Silver Anvil Awards Evening held June 8 in New York City.
Grand Rapids, Mich.-based Lambert, Edwards & Associates (LE&A) received the 2006 Silver Anvil Award for its campaign for Zondervan and the launch of the Today’s New International Version Bible, a new Bible translation aimed at the younger generation. LE&A was the only firm in Michigan to receive a Silver Anvil. LE&A Managing Director Tara Powers, who led the Zondervan TNIV PR campaign, accepted the award at the ceremony in New York.
“The Silver Anvil is the ‘Oscar of PR’, and we’re honored to be in the elite group of agencies to win this award and be recognized by our peers as truly best-in-class,” said Jeff Lambert, LE&A managing partner. “The PR campaign for Zondervan and the TNIV was the spark that ignited one of the most successful product launches ever in the Christian products market and proved instrumental in introducing the TNIV as a viable and preferred translation for the next generation.”
Added David M. Imre, APR, 2006 PRSA Silver Anvil chair: “The PRSA Silver Anvil Awards are the highest watermark of success for any public relations practitioner, and we congratulate Lambert, Edwards & Associates for their program that incorporated measurable and sound research, planning, execution and evaluation.”
The award, which bested other programs in the Marketing Consumer Products-Other category, recognized LE&A for its public relations strategy for the pre-launch and market entry of the TNIV translation of the Bible. Through targeted outreach to influencers and potential consumers and leveraging national media opportunities, the campaign produced coverage in more than 1,500 media outlets including USA Today, Associated Press, Los Angeles Times, CNN and MSNBC, bolstering the successful launch of the translation and its status as the biggest Bible translation launch in history.
The Silver Anvil Awards has grown in scope and stature since its inception in 1946 and is widely recognized as the preeminent awards program in the public relations industry. More than 700 entries, the second highest number in the 60-year history of the program, were submitted for the 2006 Silver Anvils Awards program.
